Ferrox society is essentially a magocracy. Since a ferrox gains tails equivalent to hir knowledge of magic, hir rank is determined by the number of tails sie has. Not all ferrox study magic, but all are required to be respectful to those that have. Since the maximum number of tails one can gain is 15, this represents the pinnacle of the Ferrox hierarchy.

Tarula: A ferrox with 3-6 tails.
Nevu: A ferrox with 2 tails.
